Oh By Gosh, By Golly, It's time form Christmas Beers and Holly! And this, my friends, was a new discovery found at a little hole in the wall tavern with a beer store upstairs located across the highway from Robert Morris College near the Pittsburgh Airport. Scrooge and Marley is NOT a brewery like the bottle says. It is a gift shop (on-line) that sells many a food pack, wine, chocolates, cheeses, nuts, and beer, etc. for the Yuletide. The Beer itself is made by the Joseph Huber Brewery for Scrooge And Marley. Jingle Bell Bock is one of 4 H-Day varieties that come in the S & M (S & M?????) gift pack. JBB has a very nice brownish red hue with decent leave of suds at the top that has excellent staying power. Bold malty aromas of nice dark roasty malt waft from the mug, with a slight scent of fresh baked Christmas bread rising. The mouthfeel has a very dry spice like quality, with tasting notes of rich roasted malts and a mildly bitter hoppy dry finish. A light spice character was detected, but the real eye opener is it's bold malty character that a bock beer should have. It reminded me of St. Nicks Bock from the Penn Brewery, only not as sweet. Get the 12 pack this Christmas season. Santa says you will enjoy this bock beer!
