Clear copper yellow with small white foam head. Aroma is earthy with malt notes. Taste is reasonable bitter yet again some earth present. Bit sparkling. Quite long bitter aftertaste. (Velp 201301)

500 ml bottle. Poured in a 0.25 l Altbier-Stange a clear dark-brown red colored Alt with a short two fingers slight beige creamy foamy head that had a good retention. Mid-sized carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is mild caramel malts, moderate fruity, nuts, a touch of hay. The flavour is mild roasted and chocolaty malts, a bit syrup, molasses, notes of citrussy hops, at the end of the sip a clear nutty feeling. The mouthfeel is crispy and smooth. This light bodied Alt has a dry malty finish. A quite decent Alt but overall too mild.

Very dark copper colour, medkiumsized off-white head, some lace. Bready malty aroma with some hints of slight caramel. Flavour is grassy, hayish malts with some earthy notes. A really dry palate, in a nice way. Easy to drink, and the dryness really makes you want to have more. The aftertaste has some slight hayish and roasted notes.

This one is up there with Gleumes, my to-date favorite altbier. Poured a deep and rich crystal clear copper color with a huge head that sustained itself quite well and provided great lacing. The aroma was hard to discern, malty and hoppy (couldn't pick much specific up). The flavor was great within the style, with caramel malts coming through balanced by a nice hoppy bitter and dry finish. These alts are so darned balanced and crisp (lagers), that it's no wonder they got me started in the beer world. Some minor flavors that come through in this one: wood (my notes agree with jonmoore on that one!) and light butter. Very drinkable beer. Good stuff. Viva la alt!

Quite pleasant aroma, yellow collor, good refreshening taste, drinkable with real pleasure. Good German beer with all characteristics of good lager. Maybe it would be hard to discertain it from other German lagers, but anyway it is highly recommended.

Poured a ruby colour, with a medium sized but short lived foamy head. Malty and yeasty aroma. Roasted malts and quite sweet, with a woody, dry finish. Pretty good mouthfeel, slightly carbonated. Good beer.
