While I generally pass on the House Ales at San Diego Brewing Company, this caught my eye -- cask-conditioned is almost never a bad thing. And I'm glad I tried this out, as it was one of the better SDBC House Beers I've had in a long, long time.
Minimal carbonation, which is fine for being Cask-Conditioned, but with enough zing to make things interesting. In addition, this hadn't been tapped for too long, since it didn't quite have that classic semi-oxidized "tang" that makes Cask-Conditioned Ales something of an acquired taste.
A solid American Pale Ale that benefited greatly from the Cask-Conditioning, me'thinks. Worth a go if you happen to see it available again.
