As crisp as the first snowfall of the year, this unfiltered white ale is blended with holiday spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange peel. The familiar citrus and wheat characters of the ale are complemented by the warmth of the spices for a festive brew that’s perfect for the season. Using some of our favorite Christmas spices, including cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange peel, we brewed this hazy white ale with distinct fruity citrus notes and a warm spiciness. The blend of malts contributes a medium body with a subtle sweet note while the wheat provides a slight crisp character. The lingering spice notes leave you wanting more. Appearance – Hazy golden Aroma – Slightly sweet with herbal, spice, and citrus notes Flavor – Spiciness from the cinnamon and earthy character from the nutmeg balanced by distinct flavors of orange; Spalt Spalter Noble hops contribute a subtle lemon and herbal character Mouth feel – Medium-bodied Finish – Crisp finish from the wheat with a citrus note on the palate followed by a lingering warming note from the cinnamon and nutmeg

Pours a hazy golden yellow with small white head that hangs around for a while. The aroma is yeast and fruit but no spice? Very light aroma. The taste is wheat, spice and citrus. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and medium carbonation.

Pours clear, bubbly golden with a thick but not long-lasting snow-white head. Aroma presents yeasty and fruity notes, not strong but welcoming. Flavor is stronger and more complex, wheaty with hints of spice, citrus and - salt? Mouthfeel features typical body and fizz. Drink it at a party or while watching one of those timeless holiday specials for the umpteenth time.

Bottle at home. Pour is clear orange with a big white head and great lacing. Orange peels, some nutmeg, Belgian yeasty, some doughy, and grassy aroma. Taste is yeasty, some clove, nutmeg, lightly fruity, some citrus, and bread notes, though not particularly flavorful. Thin mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Could use a little more punch but not bad.

Pours out a cloudy gold color with a nice white heads that has very little hang time. The aroma is of light citrus. The mouthfeel is just a little above average. The taste is mostly wheat with extremly light notes of nutmeg.

This was not as bad as i was expecting, maybe marking it a bit high, but after fezziwig this beer at least had its own character. Slightly overspiced but easy to drink.

On tap @ Bearden Beer Market. Light yellow, decent head and lacing. A winter witbier is what this is: orange zest, wheat, a touch of coriander, all light in the aroma and flavors. Very easy to drink. Refreshing.

Part of their Winter Favorites 12-pack for winter 2013. Pours a hazy golden-yellow colour (gets cloudier at last pour). The warm cap has a decent retention and creamy lace. Wheat malts with the orange notes and light spices. Wet mouthfeel with a little stickiness. The cinnamon is a little more present in the taste, with the orangy wheatness. Refreshing spiced white beer, but nothing too crazy.

Sampled on 4/16/2103. This Witbier pours a medium orange gold color from a 12 oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, spicy with orange, nutmeg and cinnamon. A medium to light bodied wit bier. The malts are cereal, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and sweet. Decent carbonation. The spices compliment and help offset the fruitiness and sweetness. Crisp and clean. Very drinkable. A somewhat different winter ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

From the holiday 12-pack. Pours a cloudy, watered-down orange juice color with very, very little head. The ample spicing is great, although the beer-ish underbelly flavor is weak and watered down. That makes for an unbalanced upset of a beverage. Nice, and still leagues ahead of the cranberry lambic.

Pretty much the throw-away/drain-pour of the Winter Variety 12-pack, successfully replacing the Cranberry Lambic as perhaps SA's worst beer. No, I don't think it deserves that label, but this was pretty bad. Wet leaves/woody hop in the aroma, some orange, light ginger/citrus too. Flavor had a bit of spicy character, crackery but after it gets to room temp it really reminds me of vomit or that aftertaste in the mouth after upchucking. No thanks.
