Jeremy White, who works in the IT department at Samuel Adams, channeled his love of Belgian beers to create his Lemon Pepper Saison, a classic Belgian-style brew. Jeremy’s flavorful, refreshing and lighter-bodied beer is brewed with Grains of Paradise, an exotic tropical spice also found in Samuel Adams Summer Ale. The peppery flavor is complemented by a slightly sweet aroma with hints of vanilla and citrus, making this beer the perfect cool down to a hot summer day.

Pours clear yellow with a two-finger white head... average. Aroma is slightly spicy with hints of citrus... interesting, but a more pronounced combination would have been better. Smooth on the pallete with very low carbonation. Citrus/spice flavor, a slightly stronger presence would have been better without being overpowering. All 'round nice.

Apr. 2010 - Golden hue with a white fluffy head with pretty good lacing. The aroma is indeed lemony and peppery. The flavor is syrupy and sweet with an artificial lemon flavoring that reminds me of some grocery store brand lemon water ice. Yeah, okay, some peppery flavor as well, but not really in a complimentary or good way. I’d say this is a bit of a train wreck.

The idea of a lemon pepper saison really piques my interest, and the execution from Sam Adams was decent. Aroma was lightly citrusy, bubblegum, kinda musty actually with some earthy notes. Flavor had some light grainy sweetness. I was able to pick up some really light lemon pepper-like flavor, but only got this a few times. It was grainy, kinda grassy, musty, light dried fruit but kind of muted. Clean finish, light-medium carbonation. Golden-yellow body, slight haze with a small 1/2" white head. Mouthfeel was on the thin side. -

probably the coolest beer in the 2010 longshot sixer, but not the best. a tad too sweet for me. unique which was cool. citrus and spice, with a weird hint of black pepper at the end. worth a try.

A nice surprise. I found this to be very hef like. the lemon and the pepper came through. I was happy that the pepper didn't lead the flavors.Nice light yellow colorand thing white head. This just cries to go on or with pork. I may have to hunt some down and give it a go.

Pours a nice clear yellow with a decent white head - typical, but not too shabby. Strong aroma is lemony, yeasty and a little malty. Flavor is fresh, malty and yeasty with an undertone of citrus, like a mouthful of early summer sunshine. Texture is smooth and a little fizzy.

I am a little nervous to try this but here goes. Gold pour with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, with earthy, peppery notes. Standard saison sweetness in the taste with hints of pepper and spice and a slightly lemony tartness in the finish.

Spicy yeast scent that's peppery, fruity and earthy. Clear gold body, frothy head and thick lace. Firm bite, medium bodied, nice and bitter. Flavor follows the aroma and the pepper comes through much more.

Aroma of sweet candi sugar, thin soapy head with some lace. flavor of lemon, and spices, slightly resembles a 'light' Belgian dubel in taste more than a saison. Overall it was o.k. but i probably wouldnt try it again.

Sampled on 4/23/2010. This saison pours a light orange gold color from a 12 oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, hint of herbs and spices with a hint of pepper. A medium to lighter bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet, hints of orange and lemon. The hops are slightly floral and herbal. Wish it had a tad more carbonation. Smooth taste. There is a touch of pepper at the finish. This beer would make a very pleasant summer beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
