Our Coffee Stout is a full-bodied, rich stout that supports the espresso character of the coffee. We use 1.5 pounds of Sumatran coffee per barrel. Rich and toasty, the flavor leads with coffee and follows with underlying nots of chocolate, caramel & dark fruit. Cheers!

Nice beer courtesy of Slowrunner. Never had this one as I was one of the few it seems who didn't purchase the Sam Adams Holiday pack this past year. Either way this was pretty tasty. Poured an even dark brown with a mild head. Nose is got the free coffee and spicey nose. Some light pecan or other roasted notes. Flavors are of chocolate covered peanuts, noticeable coffee grounds and dark fruit.

First I don't like coffee and 2nd Stouts are one of my least favorite styles of beers. I'm glad this beer came in a sampler pack. I put off trying this beer for a while. Pours dark chestnut. A decent sized mocha head and left appreciable lacing. The aroma is primarily coffee with perhaps a hint of chocolate. The flavor matches the smell, though I find it to be very one-dimensional.

I love coffee and I love beer, so this is a given for me to try. Pours completely black with the consistancy of creamer. Has a small very light brown head to it that dissapate fairly quickly. Aroma is of dark coffe grounds and light malts. Taste is of coffee, dark chocolate, and your run of the mill stout. Finishes off smooth with little aftertaste. Overall a well done beer.

Now the holiday pack is perfect! So much dark roasted coffee in here...the beerishness takes a back seat to the monster java profile. Dark dark brown, with a light brown foam. This bad boy rounds out that box wonderfully. Dry finish, the bitterness of the coffee is rounded out by...yes...I do believe that is toffee.

nice addition to the holiday pack! pours a deep dark brown, near black w/tan head. at first the aroma i was expecting wasn't there, so the explosion of roasted malt and coffee on the palate came as a bit of a surprise. But the aroma opened up eventually too. Coffee dominated in a good way. A little thin, but about right for this style (it's not an imperial after all). Well done.

Coffee Porter is more suiting for this nice offering. Throw the Cranberry Lambic back into the Winter Sampler in place of the Boston Lager and you'd really have a party in a box. This stout is a great addition to the mix and I was happy with it overall. A medium brown pour with a creamy tan head and ample lacing. Mild coffee mixed in with roasted malt and hints of caramel, chocolate, toffee and buttered toast. Too thin and clean for a good stout, needs more body to chew on. Coffee is present, but I like a more robust profile.

Split a winter classics 12-pack with my bro-in-law, so only got to sample one of these for now. Thinking I may like this better than the chocolate bock (though the two are kind of similiar in style) Not overwhelming on the coffee. Balance is good, with some chocolate malt in the start followed by slight hop, then lingering coffee flavor. Dark brown appearance with dark mocha-colored frothy head. Eager to try this again and compare it to their chocolate bock in one sitting back to back.

Nice near black pour with a medium tan head that shrinks to a constant cap and ring leaving copious amount of spots for lacing. Roasted coffee bean aroma, like a cup o' Joe, black, with some chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is a pleasant blend of weakened black coffee, roasted malts, a bit of dark chocolate with a dry and very slight bitter finish. This is a stout I could drink all day. Very tasty and appealing.

A very nice offering from Sam Adams, a rich roasted coffee aroma with additional hints of dark fruit and a touch of chocolate. Body was black and the cap was a tannish hue, the mouthfeel was a touch thin. Flavor was predominately coffee with the other flavors of chocolate and some fruit coming out as it warmed.
