The second beer of the Brewmaster's reserve line, Saison de Brooklyn is brewed in the style produced by old farmhouse breweries in Belgium and France. Well-hopped and fermented to a crisp dryness, Saisons were brewed in the spring to sustain farmers through the summer. Saison de Brooklyn is boldly hoppy, dry and flinty, with a bright spicy, citric aroma and pillowy white head. This beer has remarkable versatility with food, complementing spicy dishes particularly well.

10.01.05 GABF I know I’ve had this before, but never entered notes, I guess. Drab yellow pour with medium and lasting white head. Spicy aromas include lots of corriander and sage. Wheaty saison as I’m starting to gather many of the eastern US saisons tend to be, it has hints of banana and barrel. Pretty lifeless body up front gets more interesting, firm, and fruity with temp and time. Chalky palate like the DuPont stuff.

I had the Saison de Brooklyn on tap at the Grey Lodge. It poured a cloudy golden color body with a light white head. The aroma had spices and orange peel. The taste was solid with notes of citrus, spiced, and orange peel with a minor tartness. I really enjoyed this Saison.

Poured a hazy, golden color with a small, white head that left light, sticky, lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbs, spices, citrus, yeast, and more orange peel. Taste was very fruity, lots of citrus, yeast, spices, mint leaves, light hops, even some lingering some tartness. Very nice, not sure it’s worthy of a GABF silver, but hey, it’s better than Rogue’s.
