Part of the Russell Brewmaster Series. IP'eh! - quirky name, serious taste. Well balanced with exceptional drinkability. We generously hop with Pacific North West Cascade and Williamette hops and finish with a dry hopping of Cascade flowers. Well pronounced caramel and toffee notes from specialty English malts anchor the bitterness and deliver a smooth, balanced taste. Pairs well with meaty dishes and creamy pastas

Pours a frothy offwhite head and leaves thick dirty lacing. Has an amber copper appearance. More malty type aromas and mainly earthy, herbal hops aromas as well. Flavours of roasted malts, bitter hops. Some more malty flavours as well as light toffee notes. Malts used are overpowering hops, I feel. Creamy mouthfeel. Somewhat of a slight disappointment.

The beer pours a slightly hazed copper colour with a thin sticky tan coloured head. The aroma is weak grapefruit, light fruits, grains, and mild spice. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, and average carbonation. Flavour is mild grapefruit hops, caramel, and finishes with a spicy hint. -

Bottle - puts an amber hazed ale in the glass with a smallish 1 finger cap which laces modestly. Aroma is mild with some sweet graininess and light grapefruit tones. Flavour has mild WC IPA flavour on a watery body - clean, lightly hoppy but really not what I look for in an IPA

Another winner from the taster's pack. I poured this, without thinking, into the wrong glassware - a Pilsner glass, and it still came out looking great. The taste is what I look for in an IPA, not overly bitter but not watery or too subtle either. Very tasty and smells great too.

From the LCBO, in the BC Craft Brewers Guild Natural Selections 6-pack. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a big frothy beige head, good retention and thick patchy lace. Aromas of toasted cereals, caramel malts and citrusy hops. Smooth silky mouthfeel and medium-bodied. The taste is kind of weird at first with the rusty hops, but it does get better with time. Malty, but the bitterness kicks in eventually. Still, not the best balanced IPA. The Lighthouse Switch back IPA in the same pack is much better.

Surprised I hadn't reviewed this. Tastes as good as all the other BC IPAs and tastes like them too. More bodied than most ales from down south of the border, and not as dry. Toasted granola, some citrus, some pine and indescrimanate "hops". Malts are all kinds of cereals and more complex than first though with some sourdough toast in there. Good good.

Split the 650ml bottle with father while having lunch on the patio of the Urban lounge. Brown hazy body with a limited cap, looks good. Nice toasted malts, good sweetness, caramel, strong but not overpowering hops. Great patio beer light easy drinking with a good strong flavour. Wish i took better notes but you know.

From Firefly. Poured out a beautiful clear and rich copper colour beneath a creamy off-white head; amazing retention for a head of such modest size. Aroma was pleasing hoppy and so was the flavour, with a mouth and finish to match. Thoroughly enjoyable.
