This robust beer is rich and satisfying, with chocolatey, roasted notes and a smooth finish. This beer is dark, but still very drinkable and is a smooth companion to one of our juicy burgers or steaks.

Sampled on draft at RB, Portland 05/06. Clear brown with minimal head, but nice lacing. Cocoa aroma. Bitter. Chocolate, earthy with a dry cocoa finish.

Pours dull, boring black with a small head. The aroma features little more than roasted malt and alcohol. The flavor starts with a bitter chocolate followed by a taste sweet caramel, which lingers. The body is thinnish and slightly undercarbonated. One of my least favorites at Rock Bottom Portland.
