Rich beer with almost stout-like roast levels. There’s a bit of astringency, perhaps in part from the smoke phenols, but the smoke itself is a bit reserved and blends well with the chocolate notes. Noticeable American-style hops. Good balance to the brewpub’s bread pudding.
