Like the Keith's version, this is far more of a golden/blonde ale than an IPA, except this is the one head to head matchup where Rickard's loses. Colour - clear light gold, thin white cap. Aroma - sewage. Mouthfeel - very thin. Flavour - watered down grains with some acidity. Overall - bad.

Well I don't know how they classify this as an IPA because it is not even close. Tastes like an average watered down pale lager. It wasn't a terrible tasting beer its just that when it advertises itself as an IPA it better be one and this isn't.

Decent light gold (maybe trying to get to amber), with ok white head with retension at the skim level, tons of carbonation still going strong and some minor lacing on a slow turn of the glass. Aroma is 100% not IPA. And it's very weak, with a slight skunk, but that's probally poor ingredients. It doesn't smell offensive. The flavour veers just as far with its watery dry bitterness...er, actually, there is no flavour - well, there is flavour, I just can't taste it around that watery bitter taste/mouthfeel. It's only enduring quality is that it doesn't taste exactly like domestic swill, for better or for worse, the total lack of flavour, aroma and anything else might be a good thing. It is easy to drink though for a free swilling night. Drinkable, yes. IPA? This may as well be Rickard's Stout. Never again. Total waste of money unless your life revolves around playing in the local softball league. Leave your IPA buying $$$ to any company that puts any sort of emphasis on pride in their product and a value on quality ingredients.

If your looking for a IPA this isn't the beer you want if your looking for just a beer to drink on the patio, or while doing yard work this will do just fine. This brew pours crystal clear with a yellow to gold body, and is capped off with a very thick snow white head that lasted almost the entire beer. A sweet sent mostly malt, and just a touch of hops, overall the aroma was fairly week and hard to detect. The flavor has a nice clean malty taste and is very lightly hopped, the mouth feel is decent nice and crisp and a good amount of carbonation that tickles the tongue. If this beer was listed as a pale lager I would be giving the taste almost a perfect score but they tell me this is a IPA so it isn't going to do so well. But I wonder is this what IPA's started out tasting like crisp clean and just a touch of hops before American micro brews started putting massive amounts of hops in there recipes to try something new. But I got say this a very enjoyable beer to drink it's just as a IPA its pretty week.

A very weak India Pale Ale. I have really only had this and Keiths on a regular basis and Keiths seems to have a sharper taste and attack. This IPA has a very sweet attack and no finish. I wonder which is more authentic.

Don't even know if this beer can be classified as an IPA as it really doesn't have anythign you would expect in one. If you're wanting to go IPA style try a Keith's instead and leave this one alone.

Poured a pale gold...not a bad head and lacing....medium carbonation....not the nose one would expect from an IPA...it lacks any substantial floral bouquet...all we have here is near cloying sweetness and some DMS...weak mouthfeel...unbalanced...lacks the hopping...overly sweet with a sweet finish...horrible. Leave it on the shelf
