The brand is a unique and flavourful, medium brown ale that is very smooth and easy to drink. It offers both a pleasant malt aroma and character. The brand is brewed in the style of traditional English brown ales, topped off with a hint of honey.

I think this was the second Rickard’s product after the Red, and it disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared. The pours is clear, golden-brown in colour, with a weak off-white coloured cap. Aroma is dominated by grains and caramel with weak notes of floral hops. The flavour is sweeter than the aroma would indicate with hints of caramel, and honey.

The beer was reddish brown in the glass with a thick head that lasted for a couple of minutes. The aroma was malty with no hints of honey whatsoever. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with little carbonation. The taste was malty/beery with no hints of honey. The beer was very similar to a somewhat flat Rickard's Red. In fact, the lack of honey aroma and taste and the reddish-brown colour had me wondering. -

This was my first beer of the evening so I wasn't drunk, but I am damn sure that this beer was a very dark for a honey brown. It poured with a large head that was quickly gone. The aroma had a hint of honey and a hint of malt, a very nice balance. It was crisper on the tongue than I had originally imagined, and tasted very good. The hint of honey went down well with a slight malty burp later on.

the pour from the bar wench produced a nice clear brown beer with a small white head that did have some sticky lacing.... for a while that is. the smell is malt... honey is non-existant!! taste is pretty weak... mind you i was eating ribs at the time so probably the ribs destracted my taste buds... but come on... Honey Brown beer and ribs... thats a combo made for each other!! too bad the honey brown wasnt good... its easy as hell to drink but i wouldnt be able to drink to much of it... some grainyish taste that im still tasting now!! :(

This may as well be called Rickard's Weak Malt Brown cause there sure isn't any honey to be found. This is a terrible example of the honey brown style. There isn't any honey in the aroma or taste. Here's what it does have: Nice crystal clear brown brew with some lasting carbonation, but the cap produced is marginal at best - very little head, rocky and tan, near zero lacing. Aroma: K. This doesn't smell bad, but if it's called honey anything, there better be honey. Slight sweetness and mild malts - don't mistake that sweetness for honey. Taste: No honey. It still tastes ok though, but it's all so weak...probally malts, probally, something else and something else....who cares. I'm so dissapointed with this beer, not that I was excited about drinking it. Mouthfeel: Empty. Probally medium bodied, dryness, decent carbonation and a slight nondescript aftertaste. 100% rip off. Like I said, the beer is not that bad - maybe they stuck the wrong label on this. There is no point in procucing this under this label. There's a good reason you don't see this on tap anywhere. The worst easy drinking enjoyable beer I've ever had. Can't wait for the amber coloured Rickard's Stout.

This offering from Rickards (Molson) isn't all that bad it's just a beer. The brew pours crystal clear and is bronze in color, a surprisingly thick creamy head was produced and had great retention. A fairly week sent that was very creamy, and mostly consenting of malts and I swear I smell some berries. The flavor was also very mild, very clean and easy drinking, I don't what I can say this tasted like I guess mostly malts, and a very slight bitter after taste. This might have ben a great beer if had just a little more flavor to it. Once again Rickards puts out a great everyday beer but nothing special.

Just a bit above average, brown red colour, a good malt base and lightly sweet a bit bitter this is easy to drink and i have to admit well done but not over the top ...I prefer sleeman honey brown over that one.

Had three of these last night in a restaurant, and they were seriously over-priced. No head whatsoever and not much of an aroma, either. Mouthfeel was inoffensive but thin. Flavour was noticeable by its near absence. It was like a brown version of Rickard's Red.
