A striking, robust porter full of warmth and chocolate malt. Eugene is a robust porter named after Eugene V. Debs, an American union leader and activist who led the Pullman Railroad strike in 1894. An assortment of Belgian specialty malts form a complex structure of toasted grain and caramel flavors. Dark chocolate malt makes this porter black as night and infuses it with its distinct intense, chocolate essence.

Dark brown pour with mahogany highlights when held up to the light. Tan head the fades in time, but leaves some sporadic lacing on the glass. Aromas of chocolate, malted milk balls, coffee, caramel and roasted malt. Tastes as it smells with the chocolate leading the flavors with the roasted malt close behind. Very smooth and tasty. Only negative is the mouthfeel is a bit thin. At 6.8% abv, the alcohol is undetectable. Glad it's one of their year round beers.

An ebony darkness in color. A big light brown frothy textured heaf rises above. There's good hang time on the head. A light film and moderate ringlet are left. A dryness. Chocolate meshes well with a tart fruitiness in total profile. Very drinkable.

Opaque brown body with a filmy tan head. Very dark and nice looking. Sweet with a dry finish and on the lighter-medium end of the porter spectrum. Lightly sweet toffee malt with a faint mild roast and a hint of chocolate. Tame porter, but good to drink down.

Can, thanks a lot CanIHave4Beers. Pours pitch black with a slightly orange tinged tan head. Milk chocolate comes through in the nose like Whoppers candy. There is also some decent coffee roast. Caramel hides behind the other smells. Coffee is up front with the first taste. Then I started to get a little bit of malt and dark chocolate flavors. Tobacco and hints of peanuts are in the slightly prune like finish. A nice roasted porter, but that sweet type prune finish is a little off putting. Still, this is a fairly solid porter.
