500 ml capped bottle bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Reichenbrand glass a clear oak-burgundy coloured Bock with a two fingers tan pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is heavy roasted malts, notes of caramel, coffee beans, dark chocolate, dark fruits, raisins, plums. The flavour is roasted malts, coffee beans, dark sirupy fruits, raisins, plums, a touch of licorice. A wonderful balance. The mouthfeel is creamy, fizzy and very smooth. This medium to full bodied Bock has a dry roasted malts and sirupy fruits finish. A beautiful and tasteful Bock from the nowdays Chemnitz, the former Karl-Marx-Stadt in the German Democratic Republic ( D D R ).
