Red Brick Porter - A robust porter brewed with lots of chocolate malt and roasted barley. This gives the beer its nearly black color and coffee and dark chocolate flavors. These flavors are then tempered with the use of flaked oats which provide an almost creamy texture to the beer. The 7.7% abv is deceptive but is not completely unnoticed.

A black colored beer with a reddish tinge. A big frothy textured light tan head rises above. There's excellent hang time on the head. A t5hick ringlet, persistent cap and light film are left. Nice nose of more coddee and roasted malt than chocolate. The chocolate and the creaminess of the oatmeal come out in the tasting. Easy to drink this full bodied beer. It is a home run.

This Porter pours a deep black color from a 12oz bottle. A large sized creamy beige colored head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, some dark fruits and a little bit of roasted malts. A medium bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and coffee, but there are a lot of fruit flavors, mainly cherries as well. Kind of weird tasting, but it also kind of works, if you think of this beer as a winter ale and not strictly a porter. Hops are earthy and slightly citrusy. Smooth tasting, touch creamy in the mouthfeel. Nice soft carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Pours a dark, semi-translucent, chocolaty mahogany with a thick, pale tan head that sticks around for a bit. Aroma is mainly of molasses with a smoky undertone. Flavor is malty and a bit sweet with hints of molasses, nuts and caramel. Texture is silky-smooth and leaves behind a nice, firm tingle.

This was my first sample of Red Brick, and it was better than I thought it would be. Not one of favorite porters, as I found the balance a tad off, but besides that was very tasty and enjoyable. Pours a dark black, not motor oil thick, but thicker than the average porter. Nice chocolate malty flavors with a good amount of hops, and a little bit of roastiness. I could probably do without the roasty/smokey flavors here, but it is what it is. May look elsewhere for my porters, but glad that I sampled for sure, as it's a solid beer. Curious to try some other stuff from Red Brick.

Pours an opaque dark chocolate brown, nearly black, with a fine-bubbled light tan head. Aroma is chocolaty and smoky with an undertone of coffee - very promising. Flavor is rich and smoky, like a fine mocha, with sweet and molasses hints. Texture is rich, thick and fizzy, leaving a smoky and slightly sweet finish. A must for all stouties!

A big mahogany black pour with a thin head and some lacing. Strong alcohol in the initial aroma with bittersweet cocoa, a bit of java, malts and hops. Taste is fairly strong with the roasted malts, black coffee, bittersweet chocolate, alcohol and hops. Bitter aftertaste. Not very smooth but not harsh either. Another one marked off of the wish list.

Sampled from bottle, a gift from Pyuke: Poured a black as night colour with a suprisingly smooth flow into the glass. I was picturing a bit of a syrupy run. finger sized tan head. Aroma was awesome, some coffe grounds, a little bit of toaste, and some noticeable dark chocolate. Taste, i tasted chocolate in the faintest bit. Otherwise, dark roasted malts, being high in ABV the alcohol was very subtle. And can't forget that roasty toast finish. Awesome beer, thanks Paul!
