I thought by the fancy packaging I was getting a real high quality beer. This was not the case. Although it was just ok, it was not as advertised. Did not get anything from the barrel aging. Disappointed but will try Canny Man if I see it.

Pours a very thick frothy head that stays for quite a while. Has a fairly clean and a bit hazy golden appearance. Light malty scents, from bready malts to toasty. Very mild Belgian yeast aromas. Flavours of malted barley, earthy hops. Belgian yeast notes are quite apparent. Grape/raisin taste in the finish. Light spices. Not really any hint of the pinot noir. Slick drying sensation. Tingling and warming mouthfeel. Fairly smooth. Slightly excessive carbonation. Was expecting a bit more from a beer barrel aged in pinot noir. Pretty sweet package/presentation.

Spazzy designer boxed 750 ml crown capped bottle – puts a hazed gold color with a 2 finger creamy cap. Aroma has spice and apricot dominating with a Belgian yeast funk undertone. Taste is verging on complex with great malts/grain selection, oats providing sturdy body and mouth feel, wheat provides a little drying in the finish, toasted barly malt gives some rich breadyness, mid palate you get the spices and bittering from the hop bill, fruits/apricots from yeast esters and a sharp, clean flavourful finish - well rounded and surprisingly not cloying for the use of candi sugar (good yeast attenuation) – I get a wee hint of grape skin and barrel right at the end – so this is a well put together Belgian ale it’s strength is being unassuming and very drinkable. Great offering but the price sucks I only bought 2 one to drink, one to cellar.

Pours a hazed dark golden colpour with a thin tan coloured head that lasts (an hour so far). The aroma is yeast, spices, and citrus. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, creamy, and average carbonation. Flavour is yeast, malt, and spices. As with Chopz, not noticing the pinot noir at all - just a very good Ontario brewed Belgian. -

Comes in a beautiful, artsy box and the green bottle inside has the oversized caps found on lots of Belgian beers. Was quite surprised to see Ontario on here, as it really has the feel of a Belgian beauty. Pours a hazy golden colour with a slightly creamy warm head, that has intense retention and thick lacing. Mild aromas of citrus blended with the Belgian Ale yeast and a tad of spices. Wet, mildly creamy mouthfeel. The taste is pretty grainy with some good citrus and light Belgian Ale yeast. Not sure I sense any of the Pinot Noir barrel notes. Might want to matured a little bit longer for a different character. Still, this is quite a nice rendition of a Belgian beer brewed in Canada.
