Ignition Series #2 Outburst Imperial IPA is a high-impact workout for the senses. A crafty combination of four different hops, and a dose of dry hopping, powers Outburst to 80 IBU strong. Its bold profile offers an aroma reminiscent of the Northwest hop fields at harvest time, along with spicy overtones of fresh citrus. Seeking a harmonious balance to the hop overload, we’ve blended four different specialty malts to create a distinctive deep amber hue and sweet caramel and roasty flavors. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a creamy-foamy off-white head that stays quite a long time for an impy. Lacing is pretty good too. Aromas of grassy hops, sweet roasted malts and fruity notes. The roasted malts really come out in the taste with the grass blending things. Mild dryness that gets stronger as the hop lingers. A milder, well-balanced Impy IPA than most, that is not trying to be a hop-bomb.

The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a generous light tan coloured cap. The aroma is citrus, butterscotch, pine, and light fruits. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grapefruit bitterness, some caramel and fruit tones and a spicy dry finish. -

Almost zero nose, very odd. NIce copper body topped with off white foamy head that lasts and leaves lovely lace. Mouth is slick and medium to full in the body, almost chewy. Flavor is fully bitter, sweet kick towards the end with a dry bitter finish. Some pine not much citrus, malts are maybe a bit roasted, very nice IPA except aroma missing entirely. Alcohol present as would be expected in an Imperial. (rerate a few minutes later, I am kicking it up a tad, the lack of nose should not have made this score as low as it did and kudos for giving us the malt and hops bill.) What the heck is going on, everyone else got a decent nose on this, I got nada and its not my nose 2nd beer this eve and first one had nice nose..... my review is more recent, change in recipe??? just an off batch?

Hazey amber body with a short but thick crown. Crisp floral hops, citrus, hints of pine, malts? Fuck the malts who needs them. Aroma a touch to mild. Taste is better, resin, pine, flowers, nice ballance. Earth and toast like malts, sweet yet bitter lingering finish. Good brew, lower end IIPA.

At a football party yesterday where chili and cornbread were the food fare, I went for an IPA and selected this one. The pairing was perfect. This IPA a clear copper colored beer with a big foamy textured white head rising robustly above. There was good hang time on the head. Well formed ringlet left behind. Resiny on the palate. Strong piney, lighter sweet malt profile.

Pours a dark, slightly hazy amber with a nice buff head - didn’t get much, but that must be an artifact of the pour. Aroma is monumentally hoppy, very strong and hops from here to California with a strong evergreen overtone and just a hint of fruit. Seriously hoppy flavor is both woody and evergreen, surprisingly only a little bit bitter, hints of fruit and malt. Lively, tingly texture has firm body and plenty of fizz. An outburst of hops in your mouth.

Another brew on stock almost all the time in the fridge. Pours a orangeish golden colour, well carbonated, decent froth. Nose is fruit filled for sure. Lots of grapefruit, lots of mango and papaya nose. Taste is even keeled. Not too much, just right.

Clear deep orange pour w pillowy head. Spicy piney hop and sweet malty aroma. Seems a touch old 2 weeks before the sell by date. Feel and flavor are strong still, piney and a little citrus rind with some biscuit and caramel malts. Not bad...good enough to want a fresher one.

Wasn't expecting too much, but turned out to be a very nice IPA for a good price. Subdued bitterness leads way to a fair amount of citrus and passion fruits along with biscuits, caramel, and a splash of evergreen.
