Maibock is a German lager beer that is brewed for annual springtime celebrations. It is dark in color, unfiltered, and has a hefty mouthfeel. Bocks are lightly hopped, with the flavor leaning towards malty sweetness. A large measure of Munich malt contributes a toasted biscuity flavor; dark roasted malts add color and flavors. We use Hallertau, Saaz, and Mt. Hood hops.

I started out thinking "Wow. I've never been so enthusiastic about a lager before. I've enjoyed dopplebocks and a few good pils, but this is amazing." The color of fresh cherry juice. Carbonation is low and head sluggish. Flavor is all kinds of malt, mostly caramel, but also some funky malt flavors like what you get from Special B. However further into the bomber it started getting to me a bit. The low carbonation (maybe to do with it being bottled in extremely low quantities) kept this beer from reaching it's potential. Also possibly related to the way it was bottled is that it seemed to be showing a few signs of age possibly. Still a great lager though.
