500 ml capped bottle. Poured in the original Piebalgas Vase a clear and mahogany-reddish-copper coloured B P with a two fingers soapy and beige foamy head that a mid-sized retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is toasted malts, massive brown sugar, caramel notes, faint dark fruits. The flavour is toasted malts, strong brown sugar, caramel and a spicy touch, licorice. The mouthfeel is crispy, syrupy and sticky. The texture is oily. This medium bodied B P has a sugary finish. A poor Baltic Porter that offers nothing else as sugar, far away from the standarts of the style. May be, for me, more a Dunkel as a Baltic Porter.

Very nice looking beer - deep brownish red color and soft creay foam with stiff lacing. On the other hand the aroma is not so tempting - sweetish, spicy and smoked, with some caramel scents, but despite those sound words smells not so pleasant, a little skunky though. Spicy, smoked and sweetish, with clearly emphasized smoked malt and caramel flavor. Slight bitter punch at the end and good&solid long lasting malty+bitter aftertaste. If not that smell, it should be called as average, enough plesantly drinkable porter. May be a little unbalance, but overall not bad.
