This beer is designed to start extremely smooth, then to finish with a crisp, distinctive "nutty" finish. We use an organic Chocolate Malt and an organic Munich Malt that give this beer its unique finish. The rare organic New Zealand Hallartau hop provides this dynamic brown ale with a crisp flavor.

I had this beer at a farmhouse style resturant in Brooklyn, NY (right by the new Nets Arena). This beer was okay. It was a decent brown ale - sturdy, dark and slightly bitter. Nice malt backbone.

It's about that time of the year to be getting back into browns.....just not this one. On the thinner side and could use more flavor. Still, a decent semi-smooth change of pace beer. First sample from Peak Organic. Pretty much average all around.

Pours a pretty clear coppery-mahogany with an average light beige head. Aroma is yeasty and malty with a hint of brown sugar. Flavor is strongly yeasty, perhaps too yeasty, with a bitter overtone and a malty undertone, OK if no great shakes. Texture is fairly smooth, a little tingly, maybe a bit on the thin side, and leaves a slightly tinny but not unpleasant aftertaste.

A light reddish-brown colored ale. Big frothy off-white/tannish head. Settles fairly quickly leaving a light lacing. A light brown sugar aroma rises to the nose. The body is light accenting the wateriness of the brew. The taste is weak. The sugar in the taste is burnt imparting a subtle bitterness. Nothing as robust as other, better Brown Ales I’ve tried.

Pours a semi cloudy dark brown colour with a medium sized beige head. Ntty, oak and slight grassy notes in the aroma. Peanuts, grain and soft toffee flavors throughout. Finish is lingering.

Not a lot of nose; slightly malty/sweet and fruity with citrus and a hint of pine. this is "organic" and there is a lot of residue floating in the dark copper body. Dirty white head that has moderate retention and moderate lacing. Mouth is a bit thin IMHO carbonation well done. Flavor is uncomplicated but fairly standard altbier stuff. I can't really taste the chocolate malts and I might like a bit sturdier malt backbone,it hits slightly sweet then goes a bit sour ends with a fairly strong hop bite (not hophead strong). The finish is very clean and dry, I might try the next one a bit warmer and see if the malt comes out more. Tastes like more to me and I suspect you could drink a lot of these, good session beer and overall a nice job.. A few days later RERATE I let it warm just a bit this time before pouring suspected the first one was too cold but I was too thirsty! Huge foamy head, great lace, nose a bit more fruity but still a bit weak, very nice taste, chocolate malt just detectable, great hop, malt balance, real nice beer!
