Inspired by the west coast IPAs, this pale gold lager is loaded with pacific west coast hops with a touch of cystal malt. This beer is fermented cool to keep the beer crisp and refreshing as well as dryhopped to increase the citrusy hop aroma.

Not sure what to make of this one. An overhopped lager is what I presume they were going for. It pours a clear medium gold colour with a generous white head that sticks a round a minute or two, then has a plane to catch somewhere. The aroma has a definite citrus hop motif going on balanced out by some yeast, bread, and light spices. Flavour is well balanced between the grains and citrus. Not something I would seek out but not something I would say no to either.

Bottle - pours a clear burnished gold with a 1 finger small cap which reduces quickly. Aroma os west coast hops over some light pale malt sweetness. Flavour has the hops in front with biting pine, citrus tones which are balanced mid palate by some sweetish crystal malt and lager-like smoothness - clean finish light hop aftertaste - drinks well, seems like a hoppy cream ale lawn mower type of beer - some will like it - west coast hopping of lagers seems to be a trend with Creemore hitting the market early and this effort from BC. They must feel there is a market for this but personally I feel I can get what these ale hopped/dry hopped lagers offer from a good steam beer - if one is not available something like this will fill the bill.

Got this 6-pack "Un-paralleled Mixed Pack" at the LCBO with 3 different beers. Pours a clean amber-golden colour with a big frothy warm cap, good retention and dirty lace. Was expecting a hopbomb, as their Gypsy Tears Ruby Ale I had last night, was quite hoppy for an amber ale. Nope. Mild citrus nose with hints of sweet malts. The hop is even less in the taste. Wet mouthfeel with just a tad of bitterness, bringing minimal dryness. Almost more malty than hoppy. Fruity malts with the slight citrus and caramel notes. Not bad. Just surprised how the other was not an IPA, and was quite hoppy. Pretty tame for an IPA with the name "Hoparazzi".

Interesting, fairly dry hoppy beer of medium to light body, with a defined non-ale characteristic, but nothing corn or lemon like to betray lagerness. Probably would have found quirky and inventive a few years ago, but now it seems like these arent made because they are not as good as IPAs and not really what I am interested in in a lager....Overall a decent beer that came in the sample pack but not overly pleased. Great Labels though!
