Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8
500 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Ott Seidla a clear and golden-yellow coloured Heller Bock with a two fingers almost white and pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Some floating sediments. Good lacing. The aroma is a deep sweety malty base, notes of caramel, honey and hay. The flavour is solid sweety malts, spicy, pepper, mild fruity, grapes, a caramel touch and flowery hops notes. The mouthfeel is thick, fulled and a bit sweety. The texture is oily. This medium to full bodied Heller Bock has a dry malty finish and a nice warming continuation. This Bock Bier, from the Ott brewery, is overall a well-balanced, very easy drinkable, not complex and simply good Heller Bock from Upper Franconia.
