Helles is German for light. Suitably named, our Bavarian Helles is uniquely golden, exceptionally crisp, and remarkably refreshing

One of the best Okanogan beers...this emulates a true Bavarian helles in flavor profile. Pours a slightly clouded deep gold into the stein...rocky 2 finger cap with good retention and good lacing on the glass sides. Moderately carbonated. Aroma of sweet light Munich malts over a cidery tone with hints of grassy-herbs...very nice! Up front this is all malty enjoyment..a big whack of biscuit dough hits smack in the gob then a the woody-herbal hops balance nicely in mid gulp...the finish is accented by a slight drying effect as the whole lovely gulp takes on a lemony-citrus tang....then that signature helles biscuit malt after taste. This is a very good domestic rendition and the best of the Okanogan beers IMHO ...but then, I like natural malty German lagers.
