An authentic Porter at 6% ABV. The name refers to this being the second Nordic guest brew, that is developed together with Lasse Ericsson from Nynäshamn Ångbryggeri, south of Stockholm. The beer is top fermented and added honey before the fermentation, which results in a soft and creamy coffee black porter with a soft aroma of chocolate, coffee, and nuts. The flavor is dry, light, and elegant with notes of liquorice and dried fruits. The bitterness is low and the harmonious aftertaste is dominated by liquorice.

I had this beer out of the tap at the brewery on 19 January 2011 while in Denmark. I am a big fan of Porters and was glad I got to try a true Baltic Porter. This one had the classic Baltic Porter flavor - roasted coffee and hints of chocolate. Very nice.

Sampled on 1/8/2010. This porter pours a dark brown color from a 600ml bottle. Small to medium sized tan head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee and honey. A medium bodied porter. The malts are chocolate and coffee. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. The touch of honey sweetness contrasts nicely with the roasty malts. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours a rich, deep sable, the color of dark chocolate, with a fairly thick tan head. Wonderful aroma fills the nose with roast coffee and hints of molasses and unsweetened chocolate. Flavor quite fills the mouth with roast coffee, chocolate and smoke; and has nutty, sweet, and hop-bitter hints. Texture is silky smooth and satisfyingly thick. Finish has a nice balance of sweetness and bitterness.

Bottle from State Line. The pour was deep brown chocolate color, nice huge tan-choco colored head, very generous lacing. The aroma was chocolate, licorice, notes of caramel. The flavor followed the aroma, sweet chocolate, firm licorice in the aftertaste (Baltic Porter-like in many ways), but metallic notes also present (a bit of a detraction, actually). Mouthfeel was moderate to full for the style, ample carbonation.

A dark brown to almost black apperance with a beige head. The flavor is nice with some chocolate, vanilla extract, and caramel. It was a bit on the weak side and the body was pretty thin. Overall an ok effort at best.

Bottled. Dark rubyish amber colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and some nuts. Flavour is the same with boosted roastiness in the finish and aftertaste.

Almost black with a creamy beige foam. Roasty and somewhat soapy aroma with notes of heater, licorice and dark coffee. Medium-bodied with heavy notes of roasted coffee, smoke and dark chocolate with touches of honey and soap. Long roasty and medium-sweet finish of dark chocolate and mild honey.
