(500 ml bottle). The Nøgne Ø micro brewery is in a class of its own (at least by Norwegian standards), so this beer is by far the best Norwegian "klasse D" (= grocery store market) Christmas/Yule beer you can get (all others are Vienna lagers). Deep copper colour, moderate head. Malty, oaky and toffee aroma with hints of spices. Malty flavour balanced by a decent bitterness. Rerate Christmas 2004: Colour seems even darker this year, plenty of yeast floaties. Flavour is maybe a tad spicier, well balanced hops. Impressively tasty for a Yule beer with a meagre ABV of 4.5%

hazy brown with a smal beige head. Steong aroma of craramel, soated malys and milky chocolate with notes of grassy hops. Light-bpdied with flavours of cocoa and toffee with a subtle hoppy finish of grass. Nice one, at least for a session drink before and after christmas.

Ruby red colour, big beige creamy head. Malty aroma with hints of alcoholic sweetness (though no big ABV!). A bit roast and spices also in the aroma. Roasted malts along with a bit hops and raisins in flavour. Strong roasted aftertaste, which also lasts pretty long.

dark ruby-brown colour with a fine unregular head, malty and toffee nose, slightly roasty, sweet and full-bodied, touch of late bitterness, long malty finish with notes of nuts and dates - clean, robust and well-made
