A solid brew that I had a pint of at Ninkasi earlier this month. Pours a deep reddish brown colour. Sorta muddy. Caramel flavors, ever present bitter chocolate. Rounds off semi sweet, with a delightfully vibrant finish.

Apparently you can get this one in the portland airport after you check into to the terminal. It would be one to impress your friends with. Chocolate and caramel malt with a little grittiness, the kind I have come to expect from Ninkasi. It is either the yeast or less filtration, but it gives it a little more mouthfeel than most beers.

I was looking forward to this based on the goodness of their oatmeal stout. This was a solid porter entry, but nothing too exciting. Light roast, coffee, subtle hops. A little chocolate on the back end of the flavor. Standard, but good.
