A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, this beer is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Warning: Caution: Our Imperial IPA will smack you In-Your-Face. This is an aggressively hoppy IPA. An explosion of hops including East Kent Golding, Cascade, Tomahawk, Warrior and Chinook dominate this pale summer brew. IBU's delivered like you've never enjoyed before. Our Imperial IPA is alive with a bottle fermentation that catapults hop aromas to the front with bitter notes that will dance till dawn on your palate. Serve immediately at 45 degrees F.

Subdued hops within a style that I tend to appreciate as such. IIPA's can be big hop bombs, or somewhat balanced hopped up hearty malts. This one is a hopped up hearty malt offering that is exceptionally clean and enjoyable. Thanks to heybeerman for throwing this in the box that arrived on my doorstep a while back. Crystal clear golden yellow body with a slight amber tint. Foamy head and splotchy lacing. Citrus, pine and a pleasant cattiness that works well. Fruity malts with some dough and an essential balance that creates a very drinkable IIPA. Straddles the line between malt vs. hops in this style wonderfully.

120z bottle from chimney .. . pours a hazy gold .. medium foam, great lacing .. . tidy finish from young at ajax, 1-0 .. . mellow stuff .. light on the hops, the abv is tame too .. . decent but probably a different beast when fresh .. . .
time to re-educate you dunce-bags. We'll start with US presidents. This was our first president, George Washington. Let's review. Who was our first president?
    a pickle jar?

Thanks, heybeerman! A bold and delightfully aggressive IIPA... pours slightly hazy ornage/copper with a nose full of floral, hoppy goodness; took me a while to actually take my first sip as I enjoyed the aroma. Flavor is piney citrus with a smooth, medium to full body with a nice bitter ending. Enjoyable with a very complex, yet drinkable quality.

A New Glarus treat from phishpond. Slightly hazy, nearly clear light orange golden color with a tight bubbled whipped white head and huge amounts of lacing. HUGE hops aroma with peaches, sweet wet pine, some citrus and grapefruits and then more fresh peaches. Taste is mucho hops: peaches, citrus, sweet pine, but not teeth-enamel-removing, just nice clean and big hops that is just barely offset by a light sweet malts presence. Super nice IIPA from my favorite brewery and one of the Wisconsin Beer Mafia Lieutenants - phishpond. What a treat; thank you Travis.

Great smelling beer full of hops citrus and flowers and some sweet pine. Appearance is mostly gold with a tiny hint of orange in the light. Mouthfeel is full without being thick. Flavor is mostly citrus and pine with a slightly sweet malt background and a little grass. Very easy to drink.

This rare occasion of brew from New Glarus pours out a light orange/gold with a hint of haze. The first thing I noticed was a sweetness it contains on a higher tone, above the strong hoppiness of an IPA. Smooth and mellow, a strong brew with a high abv.

07.10.05 12oz bottle, RBSG. Amber pour, thin white head lasts. Aroma is huge with pine-sol, soap, orange blossom. Finish is not clean but lingering, oily, resinous. Plenty bitter, more pine, more fresh cut wood. Very good.

Pours with a golden body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet yet bitter and hoppy with a nice grapefruit and pine note. Medium bodied, smooth and a touch dry.
