A few times a year we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Sparkling and bright this is a Wisconsin original created for you in the traditional method employed by the Lambic Brewers of Belgium including five months of outdoor resting in oak barrels. Indigenous yeast and cranberries from the “wilds” of Wisconsin flawlessly pair to dance on your palette. You have discovered a rare and delightful treasure to be served cold in a fluted glass.

The nose is all oak, a bit of brett, and lots of sour fruit. Perfectly clear and well done golden amber hued. The flavor is deffinitely cranberry, but also some oak and other cherry and grape sournesses as well. It reminded me of Enigma but had it's own flavor, very well done as you would expect from a NG sour.

well, that was different. almost as good as Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic. Ha-made ya look! this one was actually a treat. i didn't really know what to expect here. poured a prinkish-ruby color with a small fluffy head. aroma is wild...cranberries, tons of wood, really funky and musty. feel is nice, heavily carbonated but a soft palate on the swallow. flavor is tart and sweet, soft yet assertive...more wood, sweet tart like cranberries, almost a vanilla-like overtone to it. a really really interesting beer. not an everyday drinker, but i definitely liked it.thanks again, pfoxyjohn!

Big thanks to Louis for this unexpected treat. Ruby copper colored body with a foam around the outer edge and very minimal lacing. Sweet, tart cranberries are abundant within the aroma. Dry and refreshing, mildly tart with a mellowing sweetness. Cranberry, wheat and more cranberry.

Bottle: Poured a light reddish color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light sweet cranberry and acidic undertones is very enticing. Taste is a complex mix between some lightly sweet cranberry with some tart notes with a well balanced finish that includes green apple-like acidity and some light funky ester. Even though this beer present great complexity it is still very easily drinkable and very refreshing which I rated very highly. Body is about average with great carbonation. An excellent beer form a brewer that consistently amaze me.

Sampled from bottle, thanks to Louis! Pours copper-red with a sudsy, quickly fading head. Fresh-cut oak is dominant in the aroma. Light tart fruit notes too. Tart fruit and wood up front that fades to sweet caramelized malts. Medium-full body. Almost like it's been backsweetened as it's not as dry as expected. Solid, original ale!

Bottle from bonk0076. Reddish-copper color that pours with a moderate sized off-white head with a slight shade of pink in there. The aroma is somewhat funky with cranberries and caramel. Tart cranberry flavor with soft velvety sweetness. A little funk but not a lot. Not as tart and sour as I was expecting. In the same mold as Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart. New Glarus doesn’t mess up the fruit beers and here’s another one that’s very tasty and enjoyable.

No other brewery makes fruit lambics quite like New Glarus. Pours a bright orange colour with lots of spritz, but no head. Aroma was fruity, very floral and cranberry filled with hints of oak and earth. Taste was tart, very fruitforward and incredibly tastey. It was hard to stop sipping it. Wicked tasty. Remembering the '77 Dead Cornell shows for my 1977 beer review.

I love cranberries, and I love this beer. The beer pours a golden red colour with a fluffy head (unlambic like). The aroma is cranberries, malt, and funk. The flavour is more of the same with an excellent aftertaste. I love cranberries!

Paired with part of Thanksgiving dinner. Pours a slightly pink amber with little head or lacing. Sour almost vinegarish yeasty aroma cut sharply by tart cranberry. taste is sour and tart cranberries with a hint of a floral, earthy yeast. Interesting beer from pfoxyjohn - not for the faint of heart.
