Moon Man is a seriously cool cat. Always comfortable in his own skin, he never tries too hard. So cool we named our "no coast" pale ale after him. You hold a session beer with a bright bold blend of five hops that flirt obligingly with the smooth malty backside. Don't let this one lay around it is brewed to be enjoyed today. Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real. Just be.

From the bottle, it pours a clear amber with an ample head and lacing. Peachy, grapefruit and apricot hops upfront in the aromas with a slight sweet maltiness. Flavor is definitely smooth with peach/apricot/grapefruit hops shining through and a nice balance with the slightly sweet malts. Neverhad anything bad fron New Glarus

Pours a "Mellow Yellow" color with a one finger head that disappears very fast. Fairly well carbonated. Aroma is very hoppy that almost reminds me of a mild IPA. Little bit of orange peel on the nose. Taste has a cotton dryness with a fruity ending. Actually a very pleasant beer even though it is a tad watered down.

Sampled on 10/12/2012 at GABF. This American Pale Ale pours a light gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, hoppy and citrusy. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral. Decent carbonation. Nice balance. Very smooth. Very clean. Very balanced. Which is pretty much what I have come to expect with all New Glarus beers. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Thanks for the bottle phispond. I got a nice whiff of citrus even when I opened the bottle. The deep amber orange colored brew with a pillowy bright white head. A rich grapefruit nose with lots of bread crust. There is also lots of sweet apple. The taste is sweet grapefruit and lightly spicy on the back end with some black pepper. There is also sugared dough. This is a tasty hop bomb but the body is thin and a little lifeless. Decent and while I still love New Glarus, pale ales never were and still are not their strong suit.

It pours a light amber color with a thin light-tan head and average mouthfeel. An aroma of caramel malts, hops, pine, grapefruit, light bitterness, and mild spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and very rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, pine, grapefruit, light bitterness, and spiciness. Very smooth and flavorful.

Poured out a banana gold, medium foam, medium lacing .. . light citrus, apricot skin and a touch of pine .. . off the woodwork! .. . pretty good stuff but gets lost in the world of decent pales .. . Look out, Itchy! He’s Irish!

Sampled from bottle. Thanks again to Phishpond! Pours gold with an ample sudsy white head. Incredible floral, citrus and bubble gum aroma. Medium-bodied and smooth. Slightly bitter with some grassy hops and citrus fruit to complement the simple malt profile. A good session beer as advertised.

I picked this beer up in Milwaukee and just cracked it here at home in Roanoke. The smell is sensational - grapefruit and citrus. It is a really nice floral aroma. The taste doesn't really track the aroma though. It is a tad flat; however, this might be my fault. I took it on a flight, it got warm, I re-chilled it, it tasted a bit stale. Be that as it may, I have a feeling this was insane fresh. In any event, the mouthfeel was better than average and the appearance is more golden than orange. In the end a very food beer that I likely ruined. I will have this fresh next time.

A dark straw color beer, super clear. Beautiful floral citrus hop nose, really impressive. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, as is the flavor. Some citrus and pine and a hint of malt. This isn't a bad beer overall, certainly better than a lot of other pale beers out there.

What a great pale ale! Plenty of citrusy hops in the aroma but very mild flavor with just enough bitterness to keep things interesting. Well balanced, highly drinkable and hugely refreshing.
