There has never been mammoth in Greenland, it is said. There have been in Siberia and Alaska, in Finland and in Russia, China and Slovakia and in Canada and Costa Rica and Germany - but not in Greenland, it is claimed, even though our ancestors actually had a name for the giant: kiliffak they called it. But of course, Greenland since his mammoth! Found a new variant! One should not believe that a mammoth is just a mammoth. Absolutely not. There has over time been at least seven different subspecies, seven different kinds of animals around the world. Now it has been found no eight! It is common for any mammoth with respect for itself used to be: shoulder height of 5 meters, with up to 8 tonnes of live weight. It has now been found in connection with the excavation Archaeological, turns out to be of an entirely unique character. We have Narsaq simply found our very own nature, a broad-shouldered dark variant, a decent bun will really something! Nu gider vi ikke høre mere om elefanter. Now we do not bother to learn more about elephants. Scientifically valid, all mammoths were classified as snabeldyr. Also in Narsaq these are first and foremost about getting trunk forward when you give up in layers with this unique new phenomenon called: Mammut Beer. In general, it is our scientific view that everything that calls itself the elephant-like beer should just go home and lie down. That kind of has his superior. Mammut tastes good. Towering and broad-shouldered quality. It has been our ancestors knew for centuries. Now, as we are. Go on! " The story behind the name " 50 cl. pure enjoyment 7.6% Greenland created his own version, based on British experience in transportation. In order to create a beer that could withstand several months of sailing to include India, added large amounts of hops and malt, giving a very strong and bitter beer. The high percentage of alcohol was a deliberate part of the preservation and there was in fact a traditional Pale Ale, which was only made much stronger for the sake of durability. Our mammoth is an original, but enhanced Pale Ale was added light caramel malt. Yet it stands as unique as it is brewed from some of the purest water from Greenland, which gives the beer a very special rounding.

May 2012: Sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Deep golden colour. Both aroma and flavour have caramel, toffee and decent hops throughout. Pleasant to drink. This is a surprisingly well balanced strong pale ale from Greenland. The alcohol is noticeable, but does not dominate.

From Zyn (Calgary). Clear copper pour under a minimal white head, no lacing or ring. Aroma was hop and malt. Average mouthfeel, thin at the start, better as the glass warmed. Palate was hop, malt, and a tart citrus (grapefruit) bite at the finish. Drinkable but not one I'd seek out.
