Hazy copper colour pour with a decent white foamy head. Leaves good lacing. Citrus and pine aroma. Strong pine flavour. Some orange and pineapple, backed with bready malt. Medium body. Worth a try, might buy again.

Pours a slightly dark amber colour with a thick foamy bubbly head. Pretty good lacing Quite hoppy aromas and mild malt in the background. Nice creamy and tangy mouthfeel. medium carbonation. Hoppy flavours for sure, citrus, grapefruit. Pretty smooth going down, easy drinking for a stronger type beer. Very good and tasty. Good stuff!

Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Seasonals. This one is great. A lot of hops are coming through in the aroma as well as some pine and caramel. Amber coloured, off-white head. Flavour has more of those delicious hops. I could make this a daily beer if it was more than a Fall seasonal.

This Canadian IPA from the LCBO pours a deep amber colour with a nice off-white head that remains pretty good and creates a bit of lace. Fresh Cascade hop nose with the grapefruit notes being nicely balanced with a little sweetness from the caramel malts. After breathing a while, the aromas tend to stick out as oranges (so maybe Amarillo are also in there). Wet mouthfeel, making this one easier to consume than dry ones (IPA). Surprisingly not as bitter as expected. The grain really comes through, blending well with citrus. This is pretty much the best middle of the road IPA that I have had. Good drinkability and beautiful hop, without being a hop bomb.

Beer pours a dark gold colour, semi-translucent, with a generous lasting light tan head. Aroma is caramel malt, and citrusy hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is grapefruity hops, with some sweet fruit and malt hints. If this beer was cheaper ($5.60 for a 650ml bottle), drinking it could become a habit. -

I’ll continue the trend for reviewing this beer by describing the underwear I’m currently wearing, boxer-briefs with dark blue legs and butt, with a light blue elastic waist band. Body is brownish gold with hints of red, nice crown to. Seems to me this has the typical IPA aroma’s and it also seems to be of quality, fuzzy peach, sweet sugary malts, simple and yum. Taste is better and has more complexity to it. Good thick toffee, pine, peach, roasted yum. Nice balance between sweet beginnings and a bitter finish. Picking out lots of floral notes now with leather showing up in the finish. Probably the best Mt. Begbie beer I’ve had. Beer was my very first father’s day gift from my son, not sure how a 4 month old was able to but a beer though………….

Surprised I havent reviewed this beer yet. I think it sums it up....I am holding a beer in my hand (this one) its the fourth I have had, it is a summer evening, and I am in my underwear (boxer briefs with 5 coloured stripes), crossing a rotten log over Mt Begbie creek above Begbie Falls... really good. All the general characteristics one would expect from any Western Canadian microbrewed IPA. It was lovely and fresh that evening, and has been again many times since. Dece beer, but must be cold, even jsut a bit warm and I go off it, it gets a bit unbalanced.

Bottle. Pours an amber ale with a puffy cap. Aroma is all PacNW- citrus, floral fruity big caramel malting. Rich mouth feel. Big crystal malting meets big Yakama hopping in good balance..some fruits, citrus, earthyness....bittering increases to the clean bitter finish that ends with a tangerine bite. One of Canada’s best MIcro IPAs....a superior Anchor Liberty clone.

From Firefly; beer and picture added to BP 14Jan2010. Poured a body of clear amber capped by a finger's worth of off-white rocky head. Aroma was less than expected, but the nice, bitter taste and solid mouthfeel atoned for that. Taste also had a hint of pine needle - nice touch. Finished well. Always glad to see a new IPA hit the market, especially a good one, from a local micro.
