Clearing dark yellow, orange with off white foam head, lacing to glass. Quite carbonated. Aroma is not too strong, bit orange, bit cirrus, bit sour. Taste is dry, bit fruity. Short dry bit sweet aftertaste. (Velp 201302)

pours with a big white sturdy head .. . lacing is ridiculous .. . light white sugar, wood, and cherry aromas .. . similar flavours as the nose, people friendly .. . delicious really .. . these jaguars can be really tricky, so i'm gonna hit it in the face ...

Pear cider alert! Poured out a very nice weakly burnt orange coloured brew with a good ammount of white crown produced and some messy lacing. Smells like pear cider but better, very tart, musty (very weak) and possibly a very faint wood aroma...it's pretty much pear cider. (I've noted that the aroma does 'darken' a bit when left to warm conciderably. The taste is pretty good although I did get scared off on the first sip not knowing what to expect. More pearish cider on the flavour side, not to dry but more sour than a cider. Light to light medium body. Nothing to exciting here. Leave the mouth a bit dry and tart. I will actually go and buy another one and compare to Okanogan Pear Cider and rethink this.

Ok this is my first ever gueze so this is kind of exciting. Crystal clear brown body maybe burnt orange, massive pillowy white cap, tone of bubbles floating to the top, amazing retention and lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet, something that smells like cinnamon but I think it would better be described as sweet black pepper, the aroma is fairly mild and has some apple cider like qualities to it. Mouth feel is very thin and dry. My first impression of this beer its very sweet and strongly reminds me of white wine with a very dry finish, just like in the aroma I can detect slight apple and that sweet black pepper spice. This was like I said my very first gueze and not really too sure what they are suppose to be like but I got to say this just doesn’t float my boat it’s just way to sweet for me to enjoy and could never drink more than one a month.

Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is sugary, but at the same time extremely sour and dryish. Flavour is wood, sugar, sour fruit, some barnyard and yeast. A bit too sweet for my taste, but otherwise very nice.

I first real exposure to a fruity lambic. Bottle from the LCBO. Very fresh/very lemony attack with alot of fizzle. Very much like a champaign style. I could see this being a good summer beer.

Orange red color with a tight white cap that laces well. Big carbonation. Aromas of pear cider over some sour funky musty smells. Body is surprisingly light and spritzy...gritty mouth feel. Taste is tart-sour up front balanced by a sugary sweetness, no hops to speak of leaves the impression of a pear cider...finish is dry where you get just a hint of musty horse blanket over some tart and metallic tastes...sweet after taste. Seems too over processed to me from the main stream lambic gueuze...perhaps an entry level blended and sweetened lambic that won't shock the uninitiated.

375 ml bottle, corked champagne style. In France. Brown colour, large head. Aroma of barnyard, ensilage and red wine vinegar. Sour & sweet flavour with notes of claret and red wine vinegar. The recipe includes maize (corn) and ascorbic acid. A drinkable gueuze, but I’m not impressed.

This one didn't quite back the wallop of a big time gueuze, so I'd have to classify this as a gueze on training wheels. A nice golden pour with a white head, the armoma was slightly musty and tart. Taste was the same. It's not a bad brew by any stretch of the imagination, BUT it just didn't have that....oomph.

Another enjoyable gueuze that lacks in the stricking features of the other beers in its style. Not any sourness, not too much lacing but body is well carbonated and lively. A nice earthy downess about it. I began to taste a lot of honey as it warmed to room temperature and the entire profile become very mead like. Still not all that sweet though. Actually quite enjoyable.
