The Golden Blend is made with 4 year old Lambic that accounts for 25 % of it’s contents, the rest of the blend is made up by a "secret" combination of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic. The exact mixture is only known by the master-blender Armand himself. The name "Golden Blend" is not far away from the truth, in fact, the 4 years of maturation in oak-wooden barrels is making this particular Lambic very expensive. Due to the "evaporation" through the barrels, only a small percentage of the lambic is left over after 4 years of maturing.

12.7oz caged and corked bottle courtesy of oRos. It pours with a clear copper body that supported a tall light tan head of foam that hung around for about 5 minutes. The aroma offers up basement funk, tart lemon and then some tart yeastiness laced with a slight soft vinegar note and some spicy aged oak. The is at first biting with bitter acidic tartness but after several quaffs more nuances are noticed as my palate makes the calibrated adjustments. I get lemon, a dash of lime and the spicy oak notes amid a sea of acidic citrus and soft yet firm vinegar. It has a bit of a thickness and richness to it from time to time but overall too biting and puckering to really enjoy for me.

37,5cl bottle at Dr. Jekyll’s Pub, Oslo. Pours clear amber with a nice off-white head. Aroma of barnyard, citrus, horse blanket, brett and wood. Intense aroma with a delicious sourness. Dry, citric and very refreshing. Quite long and dry aftertaste. Excellent gueuze.

From all the gueuze beers i tried so far i considered this as the best so far. Aroma and flavor are very strong but not too sour and mouthfeel is good as well (not so gassy as some other gueuze beers)

Nearly clear golden yellow pour with a foamy bright white head and thick lacing. Light, zesty and near perfectly tangy provides for an exceptional mouth feel. Sour lively fruity funk is very enticing.

This is a bit overpriced these days, at more than twice as much as the regular geuze (which ain't cheap to begin with) but damn if it ain't one of the best-in-style I've had. Oddly more clarity of color in this 4 year blend then the 3. Hands down better. Cleaner yet funkier with a livlier aroma, flavor, and feel.
