Brass Taps (Guelph, Ontario, Canada – University of Guelph, University Centre)

Not a very good beer in my opinion. It pours a deep gold colour with a bubbly head. The colour is still translucent but certainly darker than Moslon Canadian and Fosters. The head barely lasts 30 seconds. The aroma isn't anything to write home about, in fact, it is very skunky at best. It is very harsh on the tongue with a lot of carbonation. The taste is a bit harsh too, too much bitterness mixed in with a burnt malty taste. It didn't smell all that great, didn't taste all that great, and was not an instant favourite. At least it looked like beer. But not one I would recommend to friends or beer lovers anywhere.

This beer poured a translucent golden brown with a thin white head that quickly dissipated to lacing. The aroma was sickly grassy malt, with a touch of hops. The mouthfeel was thin bodied, almost watery, and highly carbonated. The flavour was very grainy, with some weak hoppish tones.

Pours a fair size frothy off-white head and has a pale straw coloured appearance. Heavily carbonated. Aromas are mostly wheaty and grainy malts. Faint earthy, grassy hops. Light citrus flavours, grainy malts, wheats. Slightly sweet and bitter but not too offensive. Slight astringent sensation, medium bodied. Slick drying mouthfeel. A good go-to beer. Pretty average but really good for a mass produced ale. Much better than you would expect.

Take the recipe for Molson Canadian, and throw in some ale yeast instead of lager yeast, and up the temperature. The result is a beer that looks the same, smells pretty much the same, and tastes pretty much the same..........but for some reason, Export always seems crisper than Canadian.

This might be the best Molson that I have tried. Seems cleaner than the others, crisper, etc. I would also compare this more to Labatts, which I prefer over Molson. Don't know if I have seen or they have Molson Canadian here, but curious to try that.

the type of beer you take if you're at someone else's house and one is offered, but don't buy it in the store. if you need to buy Molson, get the ice or canadian.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 11.5oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a pale golden color body with visible carbonation and very good clarity. On top there is a bright white foamy head that makes some nice lacing patterns on the glass. It also has good retention as it slowly fades to thinner covering that hangs on until the last sip. Smell: The aroma is light overall. It has a sweet grainy character with a touch of corn husk and a hint of alcohol. Taste/Mouth feel: It has a crisp light cereal grain flavor with very clean or neutral hops that just enough bitterness for balance. Its palate is light to medium bodied with a lively texture and carbonation. The finish is crisp, clean and refreshing. Notes: This is one of my favorite beers from the big breweries. It's always good on a hot summer day and also makes for a good hockey watching beer.

There was a time when this beer was all the rage across Canada. Ex was the beer. It was a pale yellow colour with some head. It smelled musty and tasted musty. Similar to it's Labatt cousin '50' A beer I still enjoy from time to time.

Possibly the best macro swill in Canada. I've recently rediscovered this and it's perfect when you're at a bar when their is nothing else available. As usual with swill it's best ice cold but it sure beats just about every other bottled domestic beer in this country.

This is my beer of choice when it comes to not think what to order and give a living hell to the bartender trying to scream across the bar all of his list of beers while a band is playing extremely loud and all you want is an easy swill that's not too expensive. It pours a golden colour with a nice white creamy top that stays a while and leaves good all around lace. Nice grainy malt scent at first, but then turns into a mix of sweet malt and corn. Smooth slight creamy mouthfeel with active tiny bubble carbonation. Starts off crisp with mild bitterness and than corn kicks in the aftertaste. The corn is not really detectable when I get it in bottles in Ottawa. This rating is from one of their huge 950ml can. A good refreshing blonde ale that is easy to find.
