This oldtimer was the king of high alcohol beers in the early 80's. I tried it recently to see what I recall the rage was all about. Harsh and over powered, I remembered why I stopped consuming it. That and probalby why the 80's sucked in the first place. Malt background with a dryish finish. No thanks.

Much easier to find this on the Quebec side of the Ottawa river than the Ontario side. A nice strong lager that is a bit on the sweet alcoholic side.

A great party beer, Canadian style. Higher than average alcohol content and great taste makes this an enjoyable experience. Must be popular because the closest beer store to me is always out of it!

Loved the taste. Different from most others. Traveled to Canada just to get it. Perfect blend between watered down brew and heavy malt brands. If it is still available please contact me!

In the late 60s and early 70s, this was the beer to drink in Montreal (and the fact that other Molson products weren't as readily available). It reeked of alcohol......and that was OK. It tasted of alcohol........and that was OK........but most of all, it worked fast!

Re-review, so as not to be from "memory". Not as good as I remembered it, very watery, and may just be the "weakest" Malt Liquor I have ever quaffed, though I may have had a bad batch. Not much taste to this, not even an alcohol taste one usually associates with this style. No discernable aroma, which I find is becoming commonplace with certain swills. The appearance was the most redeeming quality of this brew and was actually quite nice, but loses a mark for it's porous cap.

Bought this single bottle at the Marché Richelieu on St.-Jean street in Quebec City. Written malt liquor on the label. Pours a golden colour with a medium head. Retention is not bad and lacing is minimal. Aroma of malt is nice and strong with lots of grain. Taste of sweet malt all the way and almost a dry finish. Alcohol present in the mouth, but no burn going down. Quite smooth overall.

I used to drink this stuff as an import from Quebec in the 70s when it had body and was 8% AVB.. Recently bought a couple of singles from the beer store....quite a letdown from the way I remember it. Poured like the typical Molson fizz...pale golden, carbonated, weak heading. More malt sweetness to the nose than most Molson slop, medium mouth feel with sweet malt acceted by a nice hop twang...fast finish but a nice bready after taste...alcohol is detectable. Not bad...not good....certainly not the way it was.

This beer used to be all the rage. Its pale yellow and malty. I found it unpleasently sweet. It has a slightly higher alcohol content than other Molson products. Not one I would drive over the border to get.

Pale golden color and little head. Little Malty aroma noticable. the flavor is sweet with hoppy undertones and a bitter finish.
