Draft at the brewpub in Nov. 07. Poured an orange color with some brown depth behind it. Head was ok, lacing pretty good, especially at an ABV level a whopping 9%!!!! Aroma was light roasty bready malts. The flavor was a bit of a train wreck, way too much alcohol, the roasty bitterness also over-ran what is normally a very enjoyable base (slight earthy/spicey hop profile) in this style. Not much lager crispness, some astringent type flavors, finishing with a very light roasty bitterness, difficult to finish. Mouthfeel full, lightly acidic seeming at times. I can't even bump the rating for creativity, just not a good beer.
