This beer pours beautifully into the glass with a big white head that leaves behind a thick sticy laced residue. Dark, hazey copper colour, Aroma is fruity and hop infused.

There was an initial aroma of bread, flowers and citrus. It had a copper red body with an auburn colored head that lingered for a while. A very dry hoppy taste that had an intense smell of alcohol. It was a good beer but I expected more of a unique flavor/characteristic that make it stand out from the rest of the crowd.

This beer pours an opaque amber with a small white head. The flavor is dry, bitter, hoppy with some citrus notes. With all the double IPA's out there, this one isn't anything out of the ordinary, IMO.

Picked in '06 with KCC Rnd 3. Heavy on the hops as expected with an IIPA. Beautiful amber-bronze beer with tall, thick foamy head, and outstanding lace. Didn't expect (nor did I appreciate) the tar-like aftertaste.

Solid brew, not a great example of an Imperial IPA. Sampled from a pint glass, didn't get a very strong aroma. Deep copper color with generous lacing and a solid head especially for the high abv. Full mouthfeel, nice finish. Flavor is very hoppy and bitter. Not a huge fan of this brewer, their underlying hop profile generally doesn't agree with me but this is one of their better brews.

Pours a nice red body with sticky foam head. The aroma is nice citrus and pine hops with a touch of pineapple backed up by a smooth caramel malt. I'm not usually a big fan of Mendocino beers, but this one hits the spot.

This Imperial IPA pours a dark amber gold from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is piney, grapefruity and citrusy hops. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. Malts are caramel and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. This beer is full of big juicy hops. A fairly bitter IPA, that is very much in the west coast style. Lots of big fruity malts, but lots more grapefruity hops. Balanced a little more to the hops side of the sheet. Hides the 9% alcohol very well. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This one was damn good. An amber color with a light head. The aroma and flavor is awesome. A lot of orange and lemons showing up. The malt flavor and bitterness are well balanced. This reminded me of Alpha King quite a bit.

Not a homerun within style, but a nice example. The pour was clear amber with a nice head that sustained itself well and provided really nice lacing around the glass. The aroma was of pine and grapefruits. The flavor followed suit over top of a caramel malt base. The mouthfeel was moderately bodied and a bit sticky.
