White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Our Brewmasters created this IPA based on the original recipe and the result is perfection. White Hawk Original IPA has a rich distinctive hop character and bold malt flavor. This Select IPA has a unique aroma, a clean finish and is brewed to satisfy connoisseurs the world over. We’ve blended American West Coast Cascade Hops with a very generous dose of English Fuggle Hops. This combination makes for a very aromatic character, as well as a truly authentic English flavor which you must taste to believe. “Hopheads” will love this brew!

medium brown color and light bodied. nice light tan thick head with great lacing. aroma of complex hops and taste is similar but with a touch of malt on the after taste. aftertaste is also refreshing and smooth. I would gladly buy another one.

Aroma is hoppy but not too strong. Color is a clear dark amber with a fairly thick and persistent head. Taste is strongly hoppy, with malty undertones; I could not detect any other flavors. A refreshing and enjoyable IPA.

From Central City, in a bomber. Clear, medium orange pour with a creamy off-white, ring-producing head. Aroma was somewhat flaccid, maybe some of everything - hops, grapefruit, pine; there should've been more. Mouthfeel only just average, again, shou;d've been more. And the flavour, well, not offensive but not enough of the three qualities found in the bouquet. Disappointing.

Pours a hazy copper orange with a small foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Random chunks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. The aroma is of malt and herbal and citrus zest hops. The taste is of medicinal herbal and citrus zest hops and a very slight malt flavor on the finish. This beer has a light level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel.

Pours golden/yellow with a decent head - minimal lacing. Aroma of citrus and hops, but lightly so. Mouthfeel was very thin - watery almost. Flavor was also lacking of any discernable character other than the faintest of faint hops, pine and citrus.

This beer pours like an IPA, smells like an IPA but the taste to me was very watered down. This beer has a nice hoppy aroma, and slight floral and bark type aroma, but the taste is just a watered down version of most IPA's.

Aroma was not aggressive but varied with floral and citrus notes. I poured a low carbonated, clear amber body, very thin head. Flavors of caramel malts with a hop bitterness. Overall an above average ipa

Some citrus on the nose but pretty mellow. Pours a cloudy orange with some head. A bit watery mouthfeel but has a very nice crisp finish. Flavor is pretty tame to the many or many IPA's out there.. And I think that is a good thing. I am really digging the subtle hints of pine and citrus. A sweet and bitter back round is out nice. A bit more malt to this and I would argue that it is an ESB.

pours a murky orange with a thick white head. aromas a very floral. hops, citrus, and slight malty smell were the most present. flavor is sweet malt. then a rush of bitter hops with a lingering bitter aftertaste. overall very nice ipa.

consistancy prevents me from putting this one at the top...at one point a few years ago it was my favorite ipa (pre stone), but over the years Mendocinos quality has tailed off...not as big and hoppy as it used to be, but still good.

I love birds so the packaging is a draw. The Mendocino line has not disappointed me yet. Bottled from a sample pack. Aroma of hops and grass. Crisp and bitter, with a bite on the palate. A good IPA. It’s simplicity that makes this one so good. The body os a clear, crisp amber. There’s a healthy white head on pour and it lingers for awhile. Moderate maltiness in the nose and taste. There’s citrus and a good compliment of hops that make this one a good summer quaff
