Workingman's Red is a beer dedicated to the workingmen and workingwomen who really sweat for a living. An exceptionally drinkable quality characterizes Workingman's Red, which has a deep mahogany color and a slight malty sweetness. This malty background and flavor is surprisingly smooth. It finishes with a toasty dryness and a bold, aromatic hop character that complements the sweetness nicely. The use of unmalted roasted barley reflects the Irish tradition of dodging British-imposed malt taxes, while adding depth and complexity to the ales character. Workingman's Red is flavorful enough to stand up to hearty foods like lamb stew and corned beef, but still quaffable enough to quench the mighty thirst of the workingman. Starts pouring March.
