Brewer's reserve at their Grand Opening - sold in 8 oz and served in snifters - Nice. Jet black pour with a tan tight head which quickly reduces to a constant cap and heavy ring. Heavy draped lacing. Cold wet black coffee aroma with a touch of molasses, roasted malts goodness all in the nose, then a touch of earthy hops. Taste is a coffee lover's dream - strong black coffee, dry and bitter, then a very slight molasses and a good dose of toasted malts and earthy hops. Dry finish. Good choice for their first Reserve Ale - a real treat and testament to what Brewmaster Jennifer Muckerman is able to do - and what a local small brewer is able to offer in beer. A very good change from what is available around these parts - we're moving past the Vanilla Standard Beer Menu and onto a list of seasonals and beers where the brewer is brewing for the craft beer lover and not afraid to offer something a bit different. It has been a long time coming around here. Thank you Marble City Brewing. My 100th Tennessee beer rated! Worthy of that distinction.
