In late summer, the grassy banks of the Madison River are jumping with grasshoppers. At Madison River Brewing Company we are always jumping at the chance to make another batch of Hopper Pale Ale. Four different barley malts lend a rich amber color and create a backdrop to showcase the distinctive citrus-like flavor and floral aroma of hops harvested in the Pacific Northwest.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

Pours a bright orange with a foamy white head. Aroma isn't strong but there are citrus and caramel notes. Mildly bitter, some lemon peel. Easy drinking; nothing really stands out but that is what makes it good--it stays in the background. Would make a great session beer.

Pours a pale dark yellow, not much head. Decent lacing. Aroma is bland. Mouthfeel smooth, a smidge tinny. Flavor of citrus fruit and malt. Drinkable.

An amber appearance on this one. The aroma contains some dark fruits, caramel, and grapefruit. The flavor is slightly bitter but also has a decent amount of malt in it. Some grapefruit and lemons show through. Overall an ok one diminesional session beer.
