Can from the brewery, celebrating St-Jean Baptiste this year. Pours a slightly hazed, deep copper colour with caramel highlights. The head is beige, frothy, decent staying and with very nice fiery flame lacing. Big dark fruits in the nose with raisins, plums, dates, some nuttiness and mild caramel. The taste is tamer, with the fruits not giving much sweetness. The mouthfeel not being syrupy, nor thick. The hops take over and dries out things, and some grassiness lingers. An easier-drinking Marzen than I expected.
