To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation, we brewed this historic beer, a libertine interpretation of the Porters of London. Let us pay tribute to the Cageux, our impetuous nineteenth-century draggers! The malt dominates its corpulent aromas of smoke, set with a lascivious caramelly chocolate, let out a nice fresh coffee aroma. It is this very coffee, from the roasting house La Brûlerie, which seizes the palate. The smokiness, along with a touch of alcohol are tangled in a beautiful roundness that flows on the tongue, much like log drive on the Outaouais river.

Pours a dark brown colour, almost black with cola highlights, a mocha head, a little lace and average retention. Beautiful coffee aromas with chocolate. Roasted malt does come out with some bitterness in both. Coffee in the background with some dark fruits, chocolate and molasses. A nice coffee porter with local roasted coffee beans and bitterness that gets stronger with time.
