This beer was formerly called Left Hand Juju Ginger JuJu Ginger Ale is a strong departure from "normal" beer styles. While the Scots (among others) used ginger in their brewing process, and many Christmas Ales contain ginger, there are not many beers brewed today specifically as a Ginger Ale. Our beer is basically a pale ale brewed from a relative low gravity, with some of the hops which would normally be used in the beer replaced by freshly ground ginger root. The beer is light in body, lower in alcohol, has a distinct ginger aroma, and has a very crisp finish. It was initally brewed as a refreshing alternative to the plethora of wheat beers which are popular in the summertime. Popular demand turned it into a year round beer.

Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting ABV is 4.5%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Weak aroma, only a hint of ginger. More distinct ginger in the flavour, but not overpowering. A slight fruity acidity in the otherwise uninteresting pale ale base. Thin mouthfeel.

Malty aroma has a firm overtone of ginger and a hint of fresh-baked bread. It pours a nice clear amber with a thick bone-white head. Tasty malty flavor has ginger and bready notes. Not just any bread, but a fresh homemade loaf. Texture has average body but decent fizz, and leaves a nice malty, ginger and bready finish. Let this one bring you some good juju.

Pours a clear 14k gold color with just a film for a head. The aroma is so faint I can't really smell anything special. The mouthfeel clean and refreshing. The taste is very plain but enjoyable. Nothing real special but a sound solid beer.

I didn't find this one as hateful as some reviewers. Light golden pour, very short head and cap, little lacing. Ginger and spices right up front in the nose then on the tongue, zesty and spicy, lightly sweet, like an alcoholic ginger ale. Very cool label. Worth a try.

I had this beer at Beamers 25 in Roanoke, VA. I wanted something refreshing after a day in the sun - I chose this. The presence of ginger is undeniable. It was a bit much actually. I kind of had to choke this one down. I don't think I will be having this again.

I typically dislike Left hand beers, and this one is no exception. I hate to discriminate against all of the beers from one brewery, but if the shoe fits... This one pours murky with a little foam. I had it with some dark rum and lime in a Dark and Stormy. Maybe the rum masked the flavor, but I expected a little more ginger from a ginger beer. I guess it's OK if you like fufu drinks. Maybe you can have it instead of your Cosmo. Go ahead and put one of those little umbrellas in it. The best thing about this beer is the label.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold with a small white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is wheaty malts, ginger and some lemon and pepper.
The flavor is sweet vegetal malts and ginger with a kind of skunky slightly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation.
Overall, not very good in my opinion. The ginger is interesting but there are too many off-notes. -

Aroma of apple cider vinegar, with hints of ginger, body is yellow with orange tinge, not much head or lace. Flavor is what you expect, ginger, and some grassy hints, finish is dry. Overall its o.k., the label is kinda cool.

A bright oranged colored beer. A small creamy textured, white colored head rises above. There’s some hang time. Not overly long. Settles into a light lacing. The nose is light spices and citrus. A light body and moderate carbonation that lends to the creaminess of this beer. The tasting is where this beer gets good. Peppery and big GINGER flavors.

Clear, golden-yellow body with a foamy white head and solid lacing. A strong carbonation consisting of small bubbles keeps the eyes entertained. Aroma is of sweetened malt and soft ginger. Fairly two dimensional, but rather pleasant. Thin body, feels a touch watery. Aftertaste quickly fades. Flavor is more mild than the aroma would let on. Sweet malts countered by a grassy taste. Good ginger balance. Not normally a big fan of ginger in beer, but it’s added at the right amount to be very complimentary.
