Our Oatmeal Brown Ale is inspired by the seldom thrown Eephus - a risky and unexpected high-arcing pitch that catches the batter off-guard. With a surprisingly creamy, smooth taste, this American Brown Ale finds its sweet spot with dark, dried fruit aromas, a touch of bitterness and spicy woodiness.

Bottle. Colour - mahogany, murky, light tan head, very nice lacing. Aroma - nutty malt, some roasted notes, caramel, and weak floral nites. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, good carbonation. Flavour - roasted malt, weak sweet caramel, and a nice bitter finish. Very good beer.

Pours a dark brown colour, not black though, with ruby-copper highlights. Big creamy light-beige head, great retention and foamy-creamy lace. Beautiful sweeter aromas with the oatmeal, over the roasted malts and hints of chocolate. The taste has less sweetness, with the hop creating some nice bitterness in the finish. Toasted malts and caramel ones to give the brown ale side. A very nice brew and great idea to have the oatmeal with a brown ale, instead of the typical stout.

650ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a huge frothy creamy tan head and has a dark amber coppery appearance. Thick big sticky dirty lacing. Aromas of sweet and toasty malts, earthy tones. Flavours are toasty malts, brown sugar, oatmeal, barley malts. Fairly smooth and slick mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Pretty good.

Dark brown pour with a great head that unfortunately doesn't last long enough. Leaves some spots of lacing. Sweet, nutty, metallic aroma. Nice twist on a brown ale with all the normal nutty malt flavours with some added sweetness from the oatmeal. Not as carbonated as most brown ales and the oatmeal thickens and smooths the mouthfeel.I like.

On tap@ the bent elbow - Poued a rich brown color with a tan cap - good lacing - aroma is light but there is some nutty maltiness and light sweetness. Flavour is fairly well balanced with some nice bittering hops balancing some toasty-nutty malts, rich mouth feel (from the oatmeal)- goes to a clean lightly dry finish - OK

The beer pours a hazy orange brown colour with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was nutty malt, burnt caramel, and some yeast notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was caramel, some coffee, and a sharp acidic bites on the tongue. Very enjoyable.
