Pours a huge frothy head with thick dirty lacing and has a golden amber appearance. Mild malt aromas, as well as citrus and herbal hops. Some grains and light grassy scents. Malty flavour and some bitterness. Light yeasty notes and some mild spices. Also has strong citrus and resin hop flavours. Astringent and tingling mouthfeel/sensation. Smooth and somewhat slick, drying mouthfeel as well. Pretty good and not too bitter. Goes down real easy.

First Trou du Diable at the LCBO. Pours a cloudy yellow-amber colour with lots of particles floating. Big white frothy head, very long lasting and with loads of patchy lacing. The wheat and banana notes come out at first, but then, the hop takes over. It also is quite present in the taste, creating a decent dry mouthfeel with some nice bitterness. Grassy flavours with some fruity malts in the background. A nice brew that has the wheat of a Hefe and the hoppiness of an American IPA.

My Canada Day beer. The beer pours a very hazed orange-gold colour with a huge foamy white head. Aroma is bananas, spices, and wheat. Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side for a weizenbock, and carbonation is average. Flavour is sweet, fruity, with a definite bitter finishing bite.

I’ve had this on tap before but the bottle is worth the buy for the label alone - there you will see, frozen in time. the famous Shawinigan handshake (a greeting our ex PM saved for anyone who disagreed with him) - like our ex-PM ’s thinking this is a cloudy ale - light gold with 2 finger puffy cap. Unlike our ex-PM’s dealings, nothing funny smelling about this wheat ale - ripe apricot, banana, clove and other spice, a hint of sweetness and dusty wheat malts. Also unlike our ex-PM there is no poor taste here - Big on fruit tastes and sharply hopped, robust malt backbone - goes lightly dry and bitter in the finish with a nice hop bite at the end, Unlike the little guy from Shawinigan this is a welcome export of that locale.

Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. The beer pours a murky rust colour with a thick creamy white head. The bottle says the colour is peach. I haven't seen a Quebec peach that looks like this before. Aroma is bananas, spices, a little alcohol and some out of place funky notes. The flavour is a tad sweet for a Weizenbock, overpowers the wheat and yeasty notes.
