Translation: As soon as we zyeute the ribald, our eyes just drown in the dark ruby liquid. Instinctively as inevitably, it plunges the nose into an irresistible fragrance of spices, with hints of liqueur of herbs, berries and candy that makes us succumb. A thorough study of the olfactory system, confirmed by the first sip reveals a complex assembly which combines licorice, cardamom and pepper smoked. With this discovery, a mouth that could no longer wait, we are rewarded with a final soft and caramelized. Throughout the experiment, a heat supports every sip of alcohol, calling the taster to sink, always a little deeper in the smut.

I tried this beer on July 15, 2011 at "Bar Volo" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent reddish-brown colour with a minimal white cap. The aroma was caramel, dark fruit, and licorice. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium high carbonation. The flavour was caramel, molasses, and sugar. Great tasting beer, without being sickly sweet.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 7.5%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Sweetish aroma of herbal candy and liquorice candy, some Christmas spices. Malty sweet flavour with plenty of caramel, brown kandij sugar syrup and warming Christmas spices. Quite tasty, and very "Christmasy", despite becoming available here in March

Pours a large frothy beige cap and has a dark amber appearance. Leaves thick dirty lacing. Aromas of herbal hops and sweet malts with hints of vanilla. Flavours of malts, mild spices, resin hops and some notes of caramel malts. Nice smooth and tingly mouthfeel. Full bodied and goes down pretty easy. Pretty good.

Enjoyed at Brothers Beer Bistro. Pours a nice hazy orange-red colour with a beige head that goes down quickly, but a ring stays around. Fruity nose with a good mix of dark and light fruits, spices and yeast. Wet mouthfeel with a little stickiness. Fruity malt taste with Belgian Ale yeast and very mild spices. Notes of oranges come out in the smell and taste as it warms up. Wish the spices were a little stronger, but still a nice Christmas beer that is different from others of this style.
