This English style beer has a mouthful of hops right up front. The authentic stuff. This dark beer is smooth and strong, dark and deep, with more character than the alphabet.

A series of overdue ales from WOB. This one a dark brown in color with a light tam, tight frothy head rising briefly above. Settles into a thin ringlet. The profile on this is roastiness. Some bittering coffee in the tasting. Light medium bodied.

Comes out of the tap a dark chocolate brown with a fairly thick tan head. Aroma has roast malt, coffee and caramel notes. Strong flavor has malty, chocolaty, roast coffee, and subtle caramel notes. Firm body is thicker than the average porter.

Soothing and fitting... true to name. Richly colored and flavored with coffee, toffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Smooth, rich and creamy in the mouth with a nice finish. An inspiring example of the type.
