In addition to his famous mask, Gerry Cheevers was known as a "money" goaltender and third defenseman for his aggressive, outside-the-crease style of play. During his career in Boston he recorded 230 wins, 26 shutouts and an incredible 32 consecutive-game undefeated streak, a record that still stands. He helped turn around a franchise and bring home two cups (1970 and 1972) to Boston fans. Gerry was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1985. This October 2014 release will see 20,000 bottles available for sale in Ontario at select LCBOs and as part of the Signature Series Club, as well as in Manitoba and in the northeastern United States. Tasting Notes Hallertau hops give this full-bodied Oktoberfest Lager its spicy yet tempered aroma. It pours a gorgeous dark amber, reddish colour (reminiscent of the flesh of black plums), topped off with a nice ivory-coloured foam. The aromatics are of dark fruit at the front (plums and dark cherries) with hints of hazelnut and almonds shining through. A touch of port accented with nutmeg round out the nose. The body is warm and inviting with caramel, toffee, hints of chocolate, and baked plums. The finish is slightly dry and very smooth. A formidable match for any occasion.

Pours a real deep amber colour, clean, with a warm beige frothy head, good retention and lots of lacing. Aromas of mild toffee, malty with lots of fruits. Decent flavours balanced between the sweetness, maltiness and hops. Again, fruits like dates, light prunes. Nice caramel lingers. Gets better as it breathes, showing hints of rum. Quite a nice higher alcohol content Oktoberfest brew.

Pours a large frothy brownish head and has an amber appearance, fairly clear. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of toasty malts, earthy hops, grains. Flavours are quite malty, some light spice and resin hops. Sort of a rusty like taste in the finish.

The beer pours a dark translucent copper colour with a thin tan film for a head. Aroma is plums and caramel, grains, and bread. Smells good. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is bread and caramel......and the alcohol is definitely noticeable.
