i see this as a top quality "malt liquor" or a lager version of I'll Pass Always...depending on the bottle one finds strong hop flavor to more even blend of hops, slight malt and Alcohol. From the other review, and what I see taste vary from bottle to bottle. Bottom line for ale haters like me self, this is a welcome brew.Wonder how Lagunitas will fair being 50% of hinnycan now? Surely the lads made a Fortune of of the sale...

Nose of a lemon cookie, some pine. Bright gold crystal clear body topped with a frothy white-on-white head with decent retention and little lace. Mouth is medium bodied, perhaps a hair under-carbonated but pretty nice. Flavor is a bit of an odd duck. There is a sour ending that hints at a Pils but its preceded with some fairly tropical hop notes. That sour end has a bit of a medicinal quality. There is a pepper bite in the midtaste. All in all a bit too much of an ale flavor profile, the alcohol is warming.
